Free Fall Davit

Free Fall Davit is a life-saving launch system designed to rapidly deploy lifeboats by gravity in emergency situations, providing maximum safety and evacuation efficiency for crew and passengers. It is primarily used on tankers, offshore vessels, cargo ships, and offshore platforms, where fast and reliable abandonment of the vessel is critical.

Unlike conventional davit systems, free fall davits allow the lifeboat to be released directly from a stern-mounted ramp, enabling immediate water entry without the need for lowering mechanisms. This design minimizes launch time and ensures safe operation even under extreme conditions such as heavy seas, fire, or loss of power on the vessel.

Free fall davits are constructed from high-strength structural steel and engineered to withstand high impact loads during lifeboat launch. The system includes a launch ramp, release mechanism, and secure locking arrangements, all designed to ensure controlled and safe deployment. Advanced safety features prevent accidental release while ensuring quick activation in emergency scenarios.

Designed for harsh marine environments, free fall davits are protected with marine-grade corrosion-resistant coatings and require minimal maintenance. The system is compatible with free fall lifeboats and can be customized to suit different vessel layouts and lifeboat capacities.

Free fall davits are designed and manufactured in full compliance with SOLAS regulations, LSA Code, IMO resolutions, and classification society requirements such as DNV, ABS, LR, BV, and CE directives, ensuring the highest level of safety, reliability, and regulatory conformity.
